A concept for a personal game device that contains a virtual world, or virtual terrarium, with tiny creatures living in a simulated ecosystem

A handheld sphere-shaped digital game device inhabited by "Air Planeteers" - tiny creatures who live, interact, reproduce, and die according to rules of the game's virtual ecosystem and player's actions.

Players add creatures by trading or fighting with other players. When new creatures enter the world, the balance changes, and the world has to re-adapt.

The Game Device

The device shell is a spherical touch screen through which children interact with their personal virtual world. The screen can be observed from all angles. Users can can zoom in and out using gestures.

Social Search Mode

The device has a built-in GPS and a compass. In search mode players can find and connect with other players in their vicinity.

Multi Player

Multiple players can trade creatures peacefully. They may also fight and then win or loose creatures. After each game, creatures can move between players' devices, leaving and joining new virtual worlds.

Creatures and Points

Each creature possesses varying powers and points as well as a place in the food chain. Creatures evolve, adapt, and mutate over time according to their environment.
