Portfolio » RFID Bag

A bag that keeps track of personal belongings and won't let you leave your mobile behind

The bag indicates whether the user's cell phone, wallet and keys are inside of it.

It comes with three tags: a cell phone ornament, a key-chain tag, and a credit card tag. To set up, the user attaches the tags to personal belongings. A related blue LED (or light) goes on when an object is inside the bag. When three LEDs on, means the user is ready to go.

We created all aspects of a working prototype. This included designing and sewing the bag, as well as building and programming its electronics within an RFID development environment.

RFID Technology

We used a kit named RFID toys . Making use of the reader and three tags (shaped as a keychain, credit card and chip). We attached the reader to the top of the bag, and the chips to the physical objects. The program identified each tag scanned by the reader and turned the relative LED on.
